Organization / Super-Organization

HocNota is a multi-tenant platform: each customer has its own organization, isolated from others (shared data schema with row-level security), accessible via a dedicated subdomain (<organization>.beta.hocnota.com).

Groups

A group is an optional level above the organization, designed for M&A/holding structures: it owns several organizations but holds no business data of its own (no pipeline, no knowledge base of its own). A group also has its own subdomain and its own administration console, separate from that of each organization it oversees.

Attaching / detaching an organization to a group

  • An organization administrator can generate a single-use transfer code (with a limited validity period) from their organization's settings, and hand it off to the administrator of the group that should integrate it.
  • A group administrator can:
    • Create a new organization directly within their group.
    • Attach an existing organization using a transfer code generated by that organization — a group can never absorb an existing organization without this code.
    • Detach an organization from their group.
    • Suspend/reactivate an organization in their group, and change its storage plan.

Super-administrator console

HocNota staff have a separate platform console, with broader rights than a group administrator:

A super-administrator account is created automatically the first time the platform starts up (default credentials, to be changed immediately).
